Mechanical Lead – Projects
Lead mechanical works on major data center projects. Supervise teams, solve site challenges, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery from installation to handover.
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Lead to oversee on-site mechanical works and ensure all installations meet design, quality, and safety standards. You will supervise mechanical teams and subcontractors, coordinate with other disciplines, track progress, resolve technical issues, and support timely completion, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems. This is a site-based role where your leadership and technical expertise will be key to project success.
What You’ll Do
You will supervise mechanical installations across all relevant systems, ensuring works are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, and safety requirements. You will coordinate daily with subcontractors on planning, access, sequencing, and resources to avoid clashes and ensure smooth execution. You will track daily progress, flag deviations or delays, and support quality teams with inspections, redlining, and documentation. You will also coordinate closely with civil, structural, electrical, and commissioning teams to manage interfaces and ensure area readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising mechanical installations and site activities
Coordinating daily works with subcontractors and site teams
Tracking progress and reporting deviations or risks
Conducting visual inspections and flagging quality issues early
Supporting QA/QC inspections, redlining, and documentation
Coordinating interfaces with other disciplines
Enforcing HSE requirements and intervening in unsafe situations
Supporting commissioning and handover activities
Who We’re Looking For
You have a technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, building services, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in mechanical construction supervision, preferably in industrial or large-scale projects. Experience with HVAC, piping, or plant installations is essential, and data center experience is a strong advantage. You are proactive, calm under pressure, and have a strong site presence. You communicate clearly, solve problems practically, and keep things moving.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in mechanical site supervision
Experience with HVAC, piping, and large-scale installations
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and interfaces
Knowledge of site safety practices and HSE principles
Basic proficiency in MS Office
Experience with coordination platforms is a plus
Fluent in English
Hands-on, organized, and reliable
