Role Overview
The Senior Planner will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the planning and scheduling functions for large-scale construction projects. This role ensures that project timelines are realistic, adhered to, and align with budgetary and resource constraints. The Senior Planner will collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Develop, monitor, and update project schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Utilise industry-standard scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to create detailed project plans.
Conduct critical path analysis (CPM), resource levelling, and risk assessments to optimize project timelines.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate schedules, identify interdependencies, and resolve conflicts.
Track project progress against baseline schedules, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports to management
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure cohesive project execution.
Provide expertise in schedule impacts due to changes in scope, resources, or unforeseen circumstances.
Identify opportunities for improving planning and scheduling processes and implement best practices.
Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and construction industry guidelines.
Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities relevant to the role as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
5-7 years of experience in construction project planning and scheduling.
Proven track record of working on complex, large-scale construction projects.
Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
