Role Overview
Provide functional QA leadership for the mechanical scope across multiple data centre projects. This is not a single-site delivery role; it is a governance and assurance position focused on driving consistent standards, verifying implementation through audits, and ensuring actions are closed effectively. The role partners with site teams, package leads, subcontractors and commissioning stakeholders to reduce rework, protect safety and quality, and deliver audit-ready evidence for handover.
Scope
Applies to all mechanical systems, inspections and evidence across the portfolio (new build and fit-out).
Set and maintain QA governance: audit programme, standards, templates, acceptance criteria and evidence rules.
Assurance focus: verify site teams are executing QA/QC correctly; intervene early where drift or repeat issues appear.
Closeout focus: ensure audit findings and NCRs are converted into actions, owners, dates, and verified closeout.
Pipework fabrication/installation, pressure testing, flushing/chemical cleaning, strainers/filters, and cleanliness control.
TAB readiness, air/water balancing evidence, plant installation checks (chillers, CRAHs/AHUs, pumps, valves).
Insulation/vapour barrier, labelling/identification, access/maintainability compliance.
Controls/BMS interfaces and readiness evidence aligned to commissioning gates
Key Accountabilities
Own the portfolio audit plan for the discipline: schedule, risk-based targeting, and minimum cadence per project
Perform regular site audits and surveillance (planned and unannounced where appropriate); issue concise audit reports
Coach site QA/QC and package teams on standards, evidence expectations, and first-time-right behaviours
Identify repeat defects and systemic failures; drive root cause and preventive actions across projects (not just fixes)
Escalate high-risk non-conformities early; recommend stop-work triggers for critical quality/safety breaches per governance protocol
Verify test packs and handover packs meet contract requirements and are audit-ready in ACC/BIM 360
Interface with Commissioning/Client QA where required to align expectations on evidence and readiness gates
Core Responsibilities
Run weekly/fortnightly quality calls with each site: audit status, action closure, NCRs, constraints, and upcoming hold points
Review QA/QC audit evidence submitted by site teams; challenge weak closeouts and require objective verification
Spot-check field installation quality against drawings/specs and workmanship standards; document findings and corrective actions
Review and sample test records/calibration certificates; verify traceability and compliance
Standardise ‘what good looks like’ across projects: checklists, photo standards, test pack structure, naming conventions, and gate criteria
Facilitate lessons-learned reviews and publish bulletins to prevent recurrence across the portfolio
Required Skills and Experience
Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
ISO 9001 Internal / Lead Auditor qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
Proven experience in a Lead QA/QC role within construction, ideally in data centres, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Experience working across multiple sites and international projects is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of quality systems, audits, and construction QA/QC processes.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across the Scandinavian region.
