BIM Information Controller
We're Hiring for Junior Level, Intermediate Level and Senior Level for this Role.
Experience required: Junior Level: 3-5 years of Experience, Intermediate Level: 5-10 years of Experience and for Senior Level: 10-15 years of Experience.
Job Purpose
The BIM Information Controller will manage, control, and maintain project information throughout the design and construction lifecycle. The role ensures project documentation is accurately managed within the Common Data Environment (CDE), following established information management procedures, workflows, approval processes, and project requirements. The position supports the Information Manager and multidisciplinary project teams in maintaining reliable, traceable, and accessible information, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and efficient digital collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Document & Information Management
Manage and maintain project documentation within the Common Data Environment. Ensure information is accurate, up to date, appropriately classified, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Document Control Procedures
Implement, monitor, and oversee document control procedures and workflows throughout design and construction stages. Ensure compliance with company and project-specific requirements.
Document Registers & Metadata
Maintain document registers, metadata, naming conventions, and revision information. Perform quality checks to ensure traceability, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
Information Submission & Approval
Monitor and coordinate the timely upload, review, approval, and distribution of project documentation in accordance with agreed procedures, deadlines, and project schedules.
CDE Management
Support the effective use of Common Data Environment platforms. Ensure information follows the required workflows and status codes throughout the project lifecycle.
ISO 19650 Compliance
Support the Information Manager in implementing and monitoring information management processes aligned with ISO 19650 principles and project information requirements.
Multidisciplinary Coordination
Coordinate closely with design, engineering, construction, and project management teams. Ensure information requirements are understood and consistently followed.
Stakeholder Support & Training
Provide guidance, training, and day-to-day support to project participants on document control procedures, CDE workflows, information management systems, and project requirements.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Generate reports and dashboards to monitor document progress, submission and approval status, outstanding actions, and key information management performance indicators.
Quality Assurance
Perform regular checks on project information to identify missing, outdated, incorrectly classified, or non-compliant documentation. Follow up with contributors to ensure timely resolution.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the improvement of document control systems, information management workflows, templates, and digital collaboration practices to increase project efficiency and information quality.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
Diploma or certification in Engineering, Document Control, Information Management, or another relevant technical discipline.
Experience
Previous professional experience in document control, project management, information management, or engineering environments, preferably within large-scale and complex projects.
Document Control Expertise
Good understanding of document management procedures, information workflows, revision control, approval processes, and submission requirements across design and construction stages.
CDE & Digital Tools
Practical experience with Common Data Environment platforms, preferably Autodesk Construction Cloud and/or BIM 360, as well as digital collaboration and file management tools.
BIM & Information Management
Familiarity with BIM methodologies and information management standards. Knowledge of ISO 19650 and related standards is highly desirable.
Data & Reporting
Ability to maintain structured document registers and metadata and produce clear reports, dashboards, and performance indicators related to information management.
Quality & Compliance
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and non-compliance with project requirements and information standards.
Communication & Collaboration
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and support project participants with different levels of technical expertise.
Language Skills
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
