As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our London team and support the delivery of cutting-edge hyperscale data centre projects.
Role Overview
The Assistant Project Manager will support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of complex data centre construction projects. Working closely with Project Directors, Senior Project Managers, Package Managers, Engineering teams, and key stakeholders, you will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is ideal for an organised and driven construction or engineering professional looking to accelerate their career within project management while gaining exposure to some of the most technically advanced projects in the industry.
What You'll Be Doing
Project Management & Coordination
Support Project Managers with the day-to-day management of project activities and deliverables.
Assist in developing and tracking project programmes, milestones, budgets, and reporting requirements.
Coordinate activities between design teams, construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, issues, and opportunities.
Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, and action trackers.
Attend project meetings and communicate key updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Construction & Delivery Support
Support the delivery of CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, ICT, Security, BMS, EPMS, Fire Protection, and other specialist packages.
Assist with construction sequencing, logistics planning, and site coordination activities.
Monitor installation progress against programme requirements.
Coordinate technical queries and ensure timely resolution of project issues.
Support site teams in maintaining productivity and achieving key project milestones.
Commercial & Contract Administration
Assist with procurement activities, package tracking, and subcontractor management.
Support the review and monitoring of project costs, variations, and commercial performance.
Help maintain project records, change management logs, and contractual documentation.
Track purchase orders, package status, and key supplier deliverables.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Support stakeholder communications and coordination across multiple project functions.
Ensure actions arising from meetings are tracked and closed out efficiently.
Contribute to maintaining a collaborative project environment focused on successful delivery.
Commissioning & Handover Support
Support commissioning teams during testing, validation, and turnover activities.
Assist with tracking commissioning progress and readiness activities.
Coordinate close-out documentation and project handover requirements.
Support the successful completion and client handover of project systems and facilities.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Promote CTS Group's commitment to health, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Ensure project activities comply with company procedures, client requirements, and industry standards.
Support QA/QC processes, inspections, and documentation reviews.
Participate in safety meetings, audits, and project reviews.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
Degree, HND, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in:
Construction Management
Project Management
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Building Services Engineering
Civil Engineering
Quantity Surveying
Or a related discipline
Experience
2-5 years' experience in project coordination, construction management, engineering, or project delivery.
Experience supporting large-scale construction, industrial, or data centre projects is Desirable.
Previous experience working within a contractor, engineering, or construction environment is desirable.
Technical Skills
Understanding of construction project delivery processes.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building services systems is advantageous.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with project management and construction platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
Strong reporting, planning, and organisational skills.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
