We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Operations Readiness Engineer to lead the transition from construction and commissioning to safe, reliable, and efficient operations for a new data center facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all systems, documentation, processes, and training are in place to support a successful handover to the operations team.

The Operations Readiness Engineer leads an O&M Documentation Manager and works closely with Commissioning, Construction, QAQC, CSA, MEP, and Client Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Readiness & Handover

• Define and implement the Operations Readiness (OR) strategy for the project

• Ensure systems, processes, and documentation support long-term, safe facility operations

• Coordinate readiness activities from late construction through commissioning and handover

Documentation & Asset Data

• Lead and oversee O&M documentation development and delivery

• Ensure asset data, manuals, warranties, spares lists, and certifications are complete and accurate

• Establish document structures aligned with client CMMS / CAFM requirements

Interface with Commissioning & Construction

• Work closely with commissioning teams to ensure systems are operable, maintainable, and documented

• Participate in system walkdowns, functional testing reviews, and readiness assessments

• Support phased handover and early operations planning

Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Coordinate operations training for client facilities teams

• Ensure training materials reflect as-built systems and operational procedures

• Support knowledge transfer from construction and commissioning teams to operations

Risk & Readiness Assurance

• Identify operational risks, gaps, and readiness constraints

• Track actions, owners, and close-out through structured readiness plans

• Support client acceptance and operational sign-off processes

Team Leadership

• Lead and support the O&M Documentation Manager

• Ensure document control, quality, and delivery timelines are achieved

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services) or related discipline

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in data center delivery, commissioning, operations, or facilities engineering

• Strong understanding of data center operations, maintainability, and reliability

• Experience managing O&M documentation and handover processes

• Familiarity with commissioning, asset data, and CMMS/CAFM systems

• Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• Structured, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused approach

• Fluent English required; Finnish skills are an advantage
