Project Design Manager

We are looking for an experienced Project Design Manager to lead and coordinate design activities for complex projects in Norway, with a strong focus on data center development.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the design process from early phase through execution, ensuring high quality, efficient solutions, and strong collaboration across disciplines. You will work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to deliver projects that meet technical, commercial, and sustainability goals.
What you will be doing
As Project Design Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that design work supports project success from start to finish.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Leading and coordinating the design process across disciplines
Working closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and internal teams
Ensuring designs meet applicable Nordic and European standards and regulations
Following up design progress, timelines, and deliverables
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Supporting optimization of design solutions for efficiency, scalability, and performance
Managing interfaces between stakeholders and ensuring alignment on requirements
Identifying risks early and contributing to practical solutions
Supporting project delivery with a strong focus on quality and execution
What you bring
We are looking for someone who is both structured and collaborative, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment.
You likely have:
A degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Experience from design management in construction, engineering, or data center projects
Good understanding of multidisciplinary design (architectural, structural, MEP)
Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. ASHRAE, EN50600, Uptime Institute, TIA)
Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM platforms
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience
8–10 years of relevant experience from design or engineering roles
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams
Background from complex or mission-critical projects (e.g. data centers, hospitals, infrastructure) is an advantage
Experience working in international or fast-paced environments
