The Role

We are seeking an experienced Handover Mechanical Engineer to support the completion, turnover, and handover of all mechanical systems on a large-scale data center project. This role is key to ensuring that mechanical installations are fully completed, tested, documented, and handed over in compliance with project and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the handover and system completion process for all mechanical scope

• Coordinate systemization and turnover of mechanical systems, including:

  • HVAC systems (CRAH/CRAC, chillers, cooling towers)

  • Chilled water / condenser water systems (CWP/CDW)

  • Fuel systems

  • Fire protection systems

• Conduct system walkdowns and inspections to verify installation completeness and quality

• Manage and track punch lists / snagging activities, ensuring timely close-out

• Ensure all mechanical systems meet design intent, specifications, and quality standards

• Review and compile handover documentation, including:

  • As-built drawings

  • Test reports and commissioning records

  • O&M manuals and asset documentation

• Coordinate with QA/QC, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure Mechanical Completion (MC) readiness

• Track progress of system completion and support handover milestones

• Assist in client inspections, witness testing, and acceptance processes

• Maintain accurate records within digital turnover/completion systems

• Support close-out of deficiencies and non-conformances (NCRs)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, QA/QC, commissioning, or project delivery

• Experience with handover, system completion, or commissioning processes

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in mission-critical environments

• Experience in data center projects is highly preferred

• Familiarity with Mechanical Completion (MC) and commissioning readiness workflows

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and documentation management skills

• Experience working with multiple subcontractors and project stakeholders

• Good communication and coordination abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on hyperscale data center projects

• Knowledge of commissioning levels (Level 1–5) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)

• Familiarity with digital completion tools

• Background in QA/QC or commissioning roles

• Experience in fast-track, phased handover environments
