Role Overview
CTS Group is seeking an experienced Quality Lead to oversee all quality assurance and quality control activities for a major hyperscale data centre project in Kvandal, Norway.
Reporting to the Project Director, the Quality Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing the project's Quality Management System while ensuring compliance with client requirements, international standards, project specifications, and CTS quality procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with construction, engineering, commissioning, and client teams to drive a culture of quality excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a critical site-based leadership role focused on ensuring the highest standards of workmanship, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout design, construction, commissioning, and project handover.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Compliance
Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) across the Kvandal project.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, client requirements, project specifications, and CTS quality procedures.
Drive a culture of quality excellence across all project teams and subcontractors.
Monitor project activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved documentation and standards.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Develop, review, and manage:
Project Quality Plans (PQPs)
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
Method Statements
Quality Control Procedures
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality reviews across all project disciplines.
Verify that construction, installation, and commissioning activities meet required quality standards.
Support the closure of quality issues and non-conformances through corrective and preventative actions.
Site Inspections & Auditing
Perform routine site audits and inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
Review workmanship standards across Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Commissioning activities.
Ensure inspection records, test reports, and certification documentation are accurately maintained.
Identify quality risks and implement mitigation measures before they impact delivery.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain oversight of all quality-related documentation and records.
Ensure inspection reports, test certificates, turnover documentation, and quality dossiers are completed and maintained.
Prepare quality performance reports and KPI dashboards for project and senior management teams.
Monitor quality trends and recommend improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary quality representative for the project.
Interface with clients, consultants, subcontractors, commissioning teams, and third-party inspectors.
Participate in project reviews, quality meetings, readiness reviews, and management reporting sessions.
Support successful project handover by ensuring all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve quality processes, procedures, and project outcomes.
Support lessons learned initiatives and best practice implementation across CTS projects.
Promote standardisation and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Experience
Proven experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Lead, or Senior QA/QC professional within construction projects.
Experience delivering quality programmes on data centre, mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of construction quality processes throughout design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments and managing subcontractor quality performance.
Technical Knowledge
Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and QA/QC processes.
Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 principles and quality management best practices.
Familiarity with inspection procedures, testing requirements, and construction compliance standards.
Knowledge of data centre commissioning processes and mission-critical systems would be advantageous.
Ability to review technical documentation, specifications, drawings, and quality records.
