Sustainability Coordinator, Data Center Construction Projects
Onsite Sustainability Coordinator role at a live data center project in Seinäjoki. Lead sustainability delivery, data capture, compliance and contractor coordination from mobilization to handover.
As onsite Sustainability Coordinator, you will lead the delivery of sustainability requirements on a live CTS Group data center construction site in Seinäjoki, Finland. You will work with construction management, package leads, procurement, and the client team to embed sustainability into daily site activity, ensure requirements are met, and maintain audit-ready evidence from mobilization through handover.
The role is hands-on and delivery driven. You will run site processes for data capture, sustainable procurement evidence, and compliance tracking, and you will coordinate actions across multiple contractors and work packages. You will translate specifications into practical checklists, support project decision-making on sustainability options during construction, and maintain alignment through concise reporting and meeting cadence.
Key Responsibilities
Site Sustainability Coordination. Own the site sustainability plan and coordinate implementation across civil, structural, MEP, and fit-out packages, ensuring actions are assigned, scheduled, and closed out.
Data Collection and Evidence. Establish routines to capture materials, waste, fuel, energy, water, logistics, and commissioning inputs: validate submissions; and maintain traceable records aligned to project requirements.
Sustainable Procurement Support. Track sustainability requirements through submittals and procurement, including EPDs and certifications where applicable; manage supplier follow-up; and document approvals, substitutions, and non-compliances.
Specifications and Compliance. Convert Employer's Requirements and client standards into site controls; monitor compliance via site walks and audits; raise deviations early; and drive corrective actions with package owners.
Reporting and Client Meetings. Produce weekly and monthly sustainability updates covering KPIs, risks, issues, and decisions required; prepare meeting packs; present progress; and track actions to completion.
Construction-Stage Options. Identify opportunities to reduce impacts during construction (waste prevention, segregation, temporary power efficiency, logistics optimization, and low-impact materials); assess cost and program implications; and coordinate implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related discipline. A relevant Master's degree is an advantage.
5+ years' experience in construction delivery, site environmental management, or sustainability coordination, ideally on complex industrial or data center projects.
Strong understanding of construction-stage sustainability requirements, including evidence management, waste and materials tracking, temporary works impacts, and contractor performance management.
Experience working with specifications, submittals, and QA-style document control.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, programs, and quantity information, and to work effectively with site teams, suppliers, and client stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, with experience managing trackers, prioritizing competing demands, and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
