We are seeking a competent and experienced Electrical Lead to manage the delivery and execution of electrical systems in our construction projects. The Electrical Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical works—from design coordination to installation, testing, and commissioning—ensuring compliance with technical standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines. This role is critical in ensuring that electrical systems are integrated seamlessly, safely, and efficiently into the overall project.
Location: Middlesbrough
Responsibilities:
Lead the installation and commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, ELV systems, fire alarms, and building automation.
Coordinate electrical works with other disciplines to avoid conflicts and ensure integration.
Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Monitor project schedules and budgets related to electrical works.
Review electrical designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, and material specifications.
Ensure installations are in accordance with project design, codes, and safety standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve on-site electrical issues and provide engineering solutions.
Oversee the testing, inspection, and commissioning processes.
Ensure compliance with local/national electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., IEC, BS, NFPA, NEC).
Conduct quality checks and implement corrective actions as needed.
Maintain all relevant documentation for QA/QC, testing, and handover procedures.
Lead and mentor site electrical engineers and supervisors.
Participate in project meetings and update project leadership on electrical progress and risks.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, and authorities as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in managing electrical works in large projects.
In-depth knowledge of LV and MV systems, ELV systems, and building management systems (BMS).
Experience working with BIM tools, AutoCAD, Revit, or electrical design software is a plus.
Strong technical and analytical skills in electrical systems.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and design drawings.
Fluent in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
